G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance Dialogue

BACKGROUND

The G20 Leaders in Bali acknowledged the need for a new global institution to address the $4.2 trillion annual funding gap toward meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aligned with the Tri Hita Karana values of social, ecological and spiritual harmonies. The G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance is a new international organization borne out of the leaders’ meeting to address this significant financing gap impeding the achievement of the SDGs and the climate transition in developing countries through the use of blended finance. Blended finance is a strategic way to combine different types of funding sources from public, philanthropic and private sectors with varying risk levels to scale investment for climate actions and the SDGs. 


Held in the Indonesia Pavilion around the World Economic Forum in Davos, the G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance Dialogue with the theme “Co-envisioning the new global Organization embracing the Tri Hita Karana Social, Ecological and Spiritual Harmonies” comprised a panel of speakers to share insights, explore best practices and perspectives on the role of blended finance to scale climate and development finance. The session will also provide an update on the G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance’s progress while inviting dialogue on the potential role and collaboration needed to advance SDGs and better business better world.
