AVPN becomes official Knowledge Partner of the G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance

COP29, Baku, Azerbajian – 14 November 2024: Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) officially joined the G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance (G20 Bali GBFA) as Knowledge Partner. The MoU Signing was held at the side of COP29 in Baku at the Indonesia Pavilion, represented by H.E. Mari Elka Pangestu, Special Advisor to the Indonesian President for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation, and Aravindan Srinivasan, AVPN Executive Director of the Climate Action Platform.

As Asia's leading platform for social investment, AVPN is committed to driving sustainable impact and addressing climate change. By partnering with G20 Bali GBFA, AVPN will continue to strengthen its efforts on mobilizing finance towards climate solutions and sustainable development in Asia, build capacity to implement effective blended finance strategies, and foster collaboration across different key actors.

AVPN has been supportive of the G20 Bali GBFA since 2022 G20 Bali Summit, and co-hosted the G20 Bali GBFA China-ASEAN Capacity Building Workshop with United In Diversity Tri Hita Karana Forum and partners early 2024 for knowledge sharing and to foster collaboration.

The G20 Bali GBFA is a critical step towards bridging the financing gap for #SDGs and climate action in developing economies, underscoring the urgent need for innovative funding mechanisms and stronger commitments from governments and the private sector, which is also closely aligned with COP29 Azerbaijan’s key agenda. The G20 Bali GBFA is a testament to the growing recognition of the need for South-led solutions to global challenges.
