Programme Description

A series of interactive multistakeholder capacity building workshops to build awareness and galvanize support and interest for blended financing among Global South country members. The specially designed deep-dive workshops will explore the role and application of Blended Finance in scaling investments and providing solutions for climate actions.  

The objective of the workshop will focus on:

1. The importance of using Blended Finance as catalytic capital to mobilize private sector investment.
2. The main Blended Finance archetypes and instruments.
3. The different sources and objectives of development funding and private investors.
4. A deep theoretical and practical understanding of how to structure a Blended Finance project to improve risk-return propositions.
5. Practical case studies, presented by leading global professionals and practitioners in the field.
6. A final session using case studies and active team participation, bringing theory into practice.

The program will invite stakeholders from country members and prospective countries to participate, creating shared awareness and allows stakeholders to take advantage of the facilitated conversations to identify barriers and uncover potential solutions. Target participants include government representatives and agencies, international organisations, multilateral development banks and financial institutions, business, investors, fund holders, and non-profit organisations.
